Welcome to
our tournament's page for the 2011 Barclays Classic
golf tournament on the PGA Tour!
This time it's Donald Ross' Plainfield CC - as the host venue to the first stop on the road to four PGA Tour events on the road to crowning the
2011 FedExCup champion in four weeks - at the
The Tour Championship in Atlanta!
This tournament dates back to the
early to mid 1960's when it first hosted the Thunderbird Classic and then later
the Westchester Classic on the PGA Tour's schedule of events. It once
boasted the biggest purse in tournament golf offering the biggest first prize -
a whopping $50,000 going to winner Julius Boros in 1968.
This week's Barclays and the race to the FedExCup comprises a field of 124 participants
playing this week based upon their FedExCup points
standings accumulated from the start of the 2011 PGA Tour season through last
week's Wyndham Championship.
Matt Kuchar is the defending champion having won it last year at the Ridgewood
CC with this year's Barclays being played at the Donald Ross designed Plainfield
CC located in Edison New Jersey.
Who will win the Barclays being played at Plainfield for the first time and be among the next
124 players to advance to next week's second round of the
FedExCup playoffs at the Deutsche Bank in Boston?
