Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii golf tournament!  Formerly the 'Hawaiian Open' by various sponsors over the years.  The Sony Open has been played at Waialae Country Club since 1965.

The Sony Open marks the official beginning of the PGA Tour season as it's the first time that the rank and file are eligible to participate.  (Last week's Hyundai at Kapalua was the first event of the season but only tournament winners from the previous year gain eligibility to play there.)  And this week's Sony Open also marks the second official FedExCup event of the 2013 season as well.

There have been some great champions past in the history of the Sony 'Hawaiian' Open in Honolulu including Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Billy Casper, and Ben Crenshaw as well as a couple of 'locals' -native  Hawaiian's Ted Makalena and David Iishi.

David Toms won the 2006 Sony Open.  Paul Goydos got it done in 2007 and K.J. Choi won the Sony Open in 2008.  Zach Johnson won in 2009 Ryan Palmer in 2010, Mark Wilson in 2011, with Johnson Wagner defending here after winning the tournament last year in 2012.
