The 2011 Charles Schwab Cup Championship is the final event of the season on the PGA Tour sponsored Champions Tour- (previously known as the Senior Tour) - and is being played for the first time at Harding Park G.C. in located in San Francisco, CA. The field is determined by the current top 30 players off of this season's money list vying for the Champions Tour's coveted Schwab Cup Champion of the Year prize. This is the largest purse of the year at 2.2 Million with 440,000 going to the winner. The Schwab Cup is a performance points system and that prize is on the line this week as well. Not unlike the FedExCup Championship of the PGA Tour it's a big annuity going to the winner of the year long competition. Bernhard Langer has a 582 point lead going into this tournament in 2010. So there's great drama and interest riding on performance in this final event of the year on the Champions Tour here hosting it's 23rd Schwab Cup (previously Senior Tour) Championship.
