Welcome to our tour in digital postcards of the 17th hole at the Old Course and the St. Andrews golf links in St. Andrews Scotland!

This is a look back towards the tee shot at the Road Hole and hotel which you must carry the corner of in order to finish in the fairway at this difficult and infamous hole on the Old Course at the St. Andrew's golf links! (next picture)

A great look at the 17th green with the road to the right and behind as well as the 18th hole and town of St. Andrews in the background.  You can see how the Road Hole bunker guards the left front entry to the large L shaped 17th green (next picture postcard below):



Here's the infamous bunker at the 17th green.  If your ball is more than half way forward into it, you must come out sideways or backwards -and if it is in 'good shape' it will still require deft sand iron skills to extricate yourself onto the green here.  (Daly did it here in '95' brilliantly on his way to his British Open victory.)
