the 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational - being played on Arnold Palmer's
Bay Hill golf club's tournament golf course.
The Arnold Palmer Invitational - formerly known for years as the Bay Hill
Invitational - has been a regular stop and is now the fourth and final stop of
the PGA Tour's Florida swing of golf tournament events.
The qualifications for entry into the tournament are the top 70 on this
year's money list through the Honda Classic, tournament winners of the last two years on the
PGA Tour, and a list of foreign winners and exemptions which insures a quality
field of top players in the world. (And of course whomever else Mr. Palmer
may choose to invite.)
Again here in 2012 this tournament has attracted a strong field with the Masters
just two weeks away and with many high profile PGA Tour playing pro's who reside
in the greater Orlando Fl area.
Tiger should be back playing here again this year with new caddy Joe LaCava on
the bag.
There have been some great champions in Bay Hill and Arnold Palmer Invitational past that have included
the late Payne Stewart, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Vijay Singh,
and Tiger Woods,
(whose won it five times), and who skipped this event in 2010, didn't win last
year either as Martin Laird will be defending here in 2012.
