Welcome
to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament page for
the 2008 Buick Invitational golf tournament. (Formerly the San Diego
Open) The Buick Invitational was known in some form as the San Diego Open
with a number of sponsors since it's inception in 1952 and has also been
associated with a celebrity name in it's storied past -Andy Williams.
There have been some great champions over the years who've won the Buick
Invitational like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Tommy Bolt, and
more recently Davis Love, Phil Mickelson, and John Daly. Five time Buick
Invitational champion Tiger Woods will be seeking his fourth consecutive defense
of that title here in 2008.
The North and South Torrey Pines public golf courses host the Buick
Invitational. Since Torrey Pines South will host this year's 2008 U.S. Open Championship
it will be used only once with the North Course instead 'hosting' this years
venue.
