Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship golf tournament. 

The world of golf lost a great man, statesman, teacher, and friend with the passing of 'Lord' Byron Nelson in 2006.  His competitive legacy continues to awe the golf world with 11 straight tour wins, 18 in one year, and a record scoring average of 68.33. Records which may never be broken. (1945)

The EDS Byron Nelson Classic is an extension of the original greater Dallas TX, area professional golf tour events dating back to 1926 with the inception of the first Dallas Open golf tournament.  The tournament became known as the Byron Nelson since 1968 as a tribute to a great golfer and man from the greater Dallas Metroplex/Ft. Worth area, Mr. Byron Nelson.  

There have been some great champions in Byron Nelson and Dallas Open past including MacDonald Smith, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Tom Watson, to name just a notable few.
