Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2008 Honda Classic played at the PGA National tournament golf course.  Both this year and last the Honda Classic is the new first event scheduled in the new rotation of PGA Tour's Florida Swing of FedExCup golf tournaments.

This tournament has been around since 1972 first as the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic and has been known as the Honda Classic and traditionally second in rotation since 1982 on the PGA Tour's Florida swing of golf tournaments.

The tournament has been played over a variety of venues since 1972 when Tom Weiskopf beat
Jack Nicklaus for that title.  The tournament was always held in March and often the wind played havoc and was the most likely reason for it moving to so many different venues from Ft. Lauderdale to now North Palm Beach.

Last year the tournament began at what looks to be the next 'permanent' host at the Palm Beach Gardens National Resorts and Spa's Champion Golf Course which Jack Nicklaus revamped to fit today's long hitters.

There have been some great champions in Honda Classic past that include Jack Nicklaus, Weiskopf, Larry Nelson, Johnny Miller, Nick Price, and Fred Couples to name just a notable few.
