Here's a great
picture from the greenside view looking back down the fairway of the 596 yard par five 17th hole at the Riviera CC golf links and the
Northern Trust Los Angeles Open. This one can be reached in two by today's playing
professionals except when the wind is in their face. Often though it
requires a layup on the second shot short of that cross bunker in the foreground
of the picture. Then you must play a wedge shot into a sharply tiered
green (from back to front) which will often cause a spinning wedge to suck back
down the green making a birdie four difficult:
