Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 CareerBuilder Challenge golf tournament! Formerly the 'Bob Hope Desert Classic' by various sponsors over the years. The tournament is now in it's fifth year post with the last four as The Humana Challenge and now Career Builder Challenge.The old Bob Hope Classic ended in 2011 after 54 straight years of consecutive tournaments. This tournament is now in afiliation with the Clinton Foundation and former president Bill Clinton usually on site sometime in the first three days of the tournament week. Back in the 1990's when it was the Bob Hope and Bob was still alive three presidents all played in that pro am one year which included Bill Clinton, George Bush I, and Gerald Ford. The tournament used to be a 90 hole event in it's heyday played over four golf courses and with a big Pro Am field. The event is now played over three courses and four days and a much smaller amateur field. There is a change in host golf courses this year with PGA West Stadium being the host golf course and the Nicklaus Private and La Quinta CC as the other two host golf courses for this event. Bill Haas is the defending champion here after winning this event last year on the Arnold Palmer Private host golf course.
