Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s tournament's page for the 2016 Hyundai Tournament of Champions, (formerly SBS, and Mercedes-Benz), Championship golf tournament ... Continued from our home page: - The golf course is situated on a mountain side at the base of a rain forest where trade winds - if they prevail here this year -can play havoc with the golf ball & club selection on this hilly up and down terrain. Without any wind it will be a long hitters haven once again where the bombers with a name like 'Bubba' could have a field day. It's a grainy sort of grass here much like you get in the southeastern USA and favors guys who grew up on Bermuda. This small field 'specialty' event - features all PGA Tour winners from the 2015 season with no cut and the strongest Hyundai Field in year's with Jordan Speith and Jason Day competing. The previous longest hosting of this tournament was when the tournament was annually played at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad California. There have been some great past champions of this event and here in 2016 the defending champion is Patrick Reed who won this event last year in a playoff.
