Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 Travelers Championship golf tournament played at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT. The Travelers Championship formerly known as THE GHO & it's former host the late Sammy Davis Jr., along with Canon, and the Greater Hartford Jaycees have been the primary sponsors of the GHO for the first thirty years with Buick taking that rein for a long stretch. Hartford based Travelers Insurance is holding that mantle since 2006. The event was held at Wethersfield CC until a move to it's present home at River Highlands in the late 1980's. The golf course went through a couple of design changes and is a short but tricky layout which when the conditions are right will yield some low scores. (Witness Patrick Cantley's 62 in 2011).. Past Champions include Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper Lee Trevino, Charlie Sifford, Bob Toski, & Phil Micklelson, Bubba Watson is defending here in 2016. |
