Welcome to CaddyBytes.com’s Tournament's page for the 2016 US Open golf tournament played at the Oakmont CC golf course outside Pittsburg, PA. The U.S. Open is the oldest golf championship of national prominence in America with most all the greats of the game winning at least one to justify their historic resumes.  It is also known as the second leg in the Grand Slam of Golf. All the greats of the game have won this tournament except for Sam Snead who very well may be the greatest of all time in spite of him not having won it. Snead did win the PGA played at Oakmont in 1951 & Bobby Jones the US Amateur here in 1925. Paula Creamer won the last Women's US Open played here in 2010. Other notable Past winners of this event at Oakmont include Ben Hogan in 1953, Jack Nicklaus in 1962, Johnny Miller in 1973, Larry Nelson in 1983, Ernie Els in 1994, and Angel Cabrera in 2007. Jordan Speith will be defending here after winning last year at Chambers Bay.
