2026 U.S. Senior Open Field Overview

The U.S. Senior Open is scheduled for July 2-5, 2026 at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio. Scioto is a Donald Ross course with deep USGA history and is strongly tied to Jack Nicklaus, who learned the game there under Jack Grout.

This page is built differently from the ISPS HANDA Senior Open / Senior British Open field page. The U.S. Senior Open uses a USGA field model with 28 full exemption categories, additional local exemptions, local qualifying, and final qualifying before the championship field is completed.

Field status: the 2026 U.S. Senior Open is expected to reach a 156-player field. CaddyBytes currently treats this as an exempt-player and qualifying-route tracker, not the final starting field. Update this page as the USGA player page, local qualifying, final qualifying, alternates, withdrawals, and final Scioto commitments settle.

👥 2026 U.S. Senior Open Field of Players

Last Updated: May 28, 2026 — Current Exempt-Player / Qualifying Route Tracker

The current CaddyBytes U.S. Senior Open page is a working field tracker for Scioto. It separates fully exempt players, past champions, senior major winners, PGA Tour Champions routes, international senior-tour entries, amateur routes, and local / final qualifying movement.

The final championship field is expected to reach 156 players. Continue checking for official USGA player-page updates, completed local qualifiers, final qualifying results, alternates, withdrawals, special exemptions, and any final field corrections. Scroll down to open the current exempt-player tracker dropdown.

  • Current page status: converted from the Senior British Open / ISPS HANDA Senior Open field-page layout into a 2026 U.S. Senior Open field tracker.
  • Host course: Scioto Country Club, Columbus, Ohio.
  • Championship dates: July 2-5, 2026.
  • Expected field size: 156 players.
  • Entries accepted: 2,780 entries were listed in the USGA fast facts for the 2026 championship.
  • Qualifying format: local qualifying over 18 holes at 32 sites, followed by final qualifying over 18 holes at 12 sites.

  • Next update: add confirmed qualifiers and alternates as local and final qualifying results become available, then replace the tracker with the final official player list when the USGA field is complete.

Current CaddyBytes status: early U.S. Senior Open exempt-player and qualifying-route tracker as of May 28, 2026. The official USGA exempt-player page lists players across many categories, and some players appear in more than one route.

  • Listed championship yardage/par: 7,170 yards / par 70, subject to change.

  • The USGA fast facts list 2,780 accepted entries for the 2026 championship.
  • The U.S. Senior Open is open to professionals and amateurs who meet the age and handicap requirements.
  • Local qualifying is separate from final qualifying; players who advance from local sites still must move through the final stage unless otherwise exempt.
  • The exempt-player tracker should be deduped carefully before presenting any final count because many players qualify in multiple categories.
  • Once the official USGA player field is fully posted, replace the route tracker with the final alphabetized field or a category-by-category player list.
🟢 CaddyBytes Field Update Note

This page has been converted from the ISPS HANDA Senior Open field-page structure into a 2026 U.S. Senior Open field tracker. It now separates current exempt-player routes, U.S. Senior Open champions and major winners, PGA Tour Champions / money-list / global senior-tour categories, local and final qualifying sites, and late field movement items. The next maintenance step is to add completed qualifier results and then replace this working tracker with the final official 156-player Scioto field when it is available.
