2026 Kaulig Companies Championship Final Round Recap & Championship Results

Zach Johnson completed a commanding week at Firestone Country Club with a final-round 2-under 68, finishing at 15-under 265 and winning the 2026 Kaulig Companies Championship by six strokes over Boo Weekley.

CaddyBytes 🏆 Final Round Recap: Johnson began Sunday with a four-stroke advantage after his third-round 63, but the final round did not start smoothly. Two early bogeys briefly reduced his cushion and gave the chasing group an opening. No one was able to apply sustained pressure, however, and Johnson settled back into the controlled, position-first golf that had carried him to the lead.

With the championship secure, Johnson finished in emphatic fashion by making birdie on each of the final three holes. His closing surge included a chip-in from approximately 20 feet on the 18th, completing a final-round 68 and a six-shot victory. The win was Johnson's first PGA TOUR Champions major title and his third victory of his rookie season on the 50-and-older circuit.

Boo Weekley produced the strongest Sunday charge among the nearest contenders, closing with a 4-under 66 to finish alone in second at 9-under 271. Weekley gained ground throughout the final round, but Johnson's large overnight advantage and late birdie finish kept the margin at six.

Rory Sabbatini matched Weekley's 66 and finished third at 8-under 272. Stewart Cink added his third consecutive 68 to take fourth at 7-under 273, while Ben Crane, George McNeill, and 36-hole leader Cameron Percy shared fifth at 6-under 274.

The final round proved more difficult for several players who began Sunday near the top. Miguel Ángel Jiménez followed his third-round 62 with a 74 and tied Y.E. Yang for eighth at 5-under. Darren Clarke finished 10th at 4-under, while Jason Caron and Vijay Singh shared 11th at 3-under.

Winning scorecard: Johnson posted rounds of 67-67-63-68 for a 72-hole total of 265. His third-round 63 created the separation, and his three closing birdies removed any remaining doubt on Sunday.

Final leaderboard note: Weekley and Sabbatini made the largest moves inside the leading group with matching 66s. Jiménez and Ridings lost ground with closing 74s after beginning the final round much closer to the top.

Final-round takeaway: Johnson's early mistakes never became a real threat to the outcome because the players behind him could not mount a sustained charge. Once he regained control, the closing birdie run turned a cautious Sunday into a decisive championship finish.

Tournament takeaway: Johnson separated himself with four rounds under par, the week's defining 63 on Saturday, and a composed response when his lead tightened early Sunday. The result delivered his first senior major and completed a dominant six-shot victory at Firestone.
