CaddyBytes 🏆 2025 Cognizant Classic Final Round Highlights: The final round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic at PGA National delivered everything fans expect from South Florida golf — big swings, fearless iron shots, and late drama through the legendary Bear Trap. Erik van Rooyen came out firing early, clanking a wedge off the pin at the par-5 3rd to set up a spectacular eagle and launching himself into contention. Meanwhile, rising star Luke Clanton continued his breakthrough week, officially securing his PGA Tour card after making the cut Friday, then putting on a Sunday highlight reel of his own with crisp approaches and confident birdie chances. As the pressure mounted, the leaderboard tightened. Van Rooyen made a serious run with birdies at 14 and 15, but trouble struck late as PGA National’s closing stretch punished even the best ball-strikers. Jordan Spieth reminded everyone of his old magic, rolling in long birdie putts and catching fire down the back nine to post a number the leaders had to respect. But the story of the day belonged to Joe Highsmith, who delivered a fearless closing performance and slammed the door shut with clutch birdies late — including a huge putt at 17 and a composed finish at 18. Highsmith’s back-to-back 64s marked the lowest weekend scoring finish in tournament history, sealing his first PGA Tour victory and earning a two-shot win over Jacob Bridgeman, who also surged up the board with a brilliant final-round 64. From dramatic shots over water to tournament-defining putts under pressure, the Cognizant Classic once again proved why PGA National is one of the most demanding — and entertaining — stops on the PGA Tour schedule.
