CaddyBytes Recap: JJ Spaun delivered one of the wildest and most unforgettable finishes in U.S. Open history, surviving Oakmont’s brutal setup, soaked fairways, and a chaotic final round to win the 2025 U.S. Open on Father’s Day in dramatic fashion. Spaun looked cooked early, grinding through rough lies, tough breaks, and a string of bogeys as Oakmont swallowed contenders one by one. A rain delay only added to the madness, turning the back nine into a survival test where nobody could stay clean. But Spaun refused to fold. As the leaderboard collapsed into a tie at +1, he steadied himself with clutch shots under pressure, including a massive drive at 17 that set up the moment of the tournament. Then came the finish nobody saw coming. Needing only a safe close, Spaun poured in an unbelievable 64-foot birdie putt on 18 — the longest made all week — sealing a storybook victory in the rain and sending Oakmont into shock. JJ Spaun is your 2025 U.S. Open Champion.
